Tap Classes Begin Tonight! 8/18

Read the previous entry for details about times, shoes, etc.
Bring water tonight and don't forget socks!
I've had a few questions from people who need to miss 1 or 2 classes, so I thought I would respond to everyone. If you will only miss one class, I'm sure you can catch up. If you need to miss more than two and you have never tapped before, I don't think you will benefit from the classes.
If you have tapped in the past, you should be able to pick up the routines with only 1 or 2 classes.
Hope this helps. Mrs. N

August Tap Classes. Don't Miss Out!

Tap classes with our choreographer Pam will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights August 18, 20, 25 and 27 in Greely's main cafeteria.
The classes will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Please arrive by 6:50 so that you can be ready to begin at 7 p.m.
TAP SHOES: If you have shoes or can borrow a pair, bring them.
If you do not have shoes, wear a hard-soled shoe that can make a sound (dress shoes for guys). If you have character shoes, you can have taps put on the shoes at a dance store such as Finer Points. You can take the taps off later.
I do have some extra pairs of tap shoes (variety of sizes: 6-8 pairs) that I will bring to the classes. If I have a pair that fits you, you are welcome to borrow them.

BRING WATER and WEAR SOCKS! Unless you have been tapping for a long time, you are very likely to get blisters if you don't wear socks.
If you have any questions, respond to the blog or email me at Audrey_Northway@msad51.org
Spread the word. Hope you've had a great summer.

Snow Day Monday 3/2.
If you read the blog, please check & respond to the CAST EMAIL. Mrs. N

Greetings!
I writing to see IF we can get enough people together tonight to run today's rehearsal (Act Two: scenes 9 & 10). I have to make sure the parking lot is plowed etc, but I think a rehearsal from 6:30-8:30 should be good since the snow will stop this afternoon.

Two steps: 1. IF YOU ARE IN EITHER OF THOSE SCENES...CAN YOU MAKE IT? Let me know by email
2. READ THIS EMAIL AGAIN AT 4:00 to know whether or not the rehearsal is on. Don't just show up at 6:30. I want to make sure we have enough people to make the time worthwhile.

If you don't have lines, you do not need to come. We will be blocking, but can fill you in later. This applies to the Duke's attendants and some fairies. Mrs. N

Sorry I didn't get this out sooner, but the school server was down.

Cast List for A Midsummer Night's Dream

Wow! We were very impressed with auditions. This is one of the best (and most competitive) days of tryouts I have seen in many years. Congratulations and thank you for your hard work. As you all knew from the start, there were far fewer roles than people who wanted them.
47 students auditioned and 27 were cast.

The first read-through for the entire cast will be Thursday 1/29 at 2:30 in my classroom. Scripts and additional information will be distributed.

There will be a tech meeting on Friday 1/30 2:30-3:15.
